Independent Initiatives
Last Updated: Sep 09, 2009
Overview
The Independent Initiatives program is a means by which individual YIRA members can approach the Board with an idea or proposal for a new program or initiative they think will further YIRA’s mission of engaging Yale and the community with international relations and global affairs. This might be in the form of a program, a one-time event, or even an international trip; any and all ideas are considered by the Board.
How To Submit An Initiative
In order to submit an initiative, please fill our online form, available
here. The form asks for some basic information about your proposed initiative, such as an outline, expenses involved, and how it relates to YIRA’s mission. Once we receive the form, a member of the Board will contact you. From there, you may be asked to present at a Board meeting, where the Board will discuss and then vote on your proposal. If approved, the initiative will receive full backing from YIRA and its resources!
