About Us

Currently in its thirty-sixth session, the Yale Model United Nations Conference (YMUN) is one of the premier conferences on the high school Model UN circuit, drawing 1,100 delegates annually to Yale University’s historic campus for a four-day, dynamic simulation of international diplomacy. With delegates from across the United States and all over the world, YMUN is one of the most diverse conferences in the country. Bearing the theme “Empowering Cooperation, Connecting Your World”, the conference seeks to create an engaging learning environment in which students can practice diplomacy and learn about international relations, as well as critically examine, debate and discuss some of the pressing issues facing the globe. We challenge delegates to think more like global citizens, and to approach the issues of the day with a more global perspective. With 18 committees ranging from Economic and Financial Committee of the UN General Assembly, to the Arab League and the International Court of Justice, the conference provides delegates with a dynamic and fascinating experience. Delegates are housed in four hotels within close distance to Yale’s campus. YMUN XXXVI will take place on Jan. 21st – 24th 2010.
